Lakers have a superb squad

This summer, the Lakers didn’t make any major moves. The Lakers have an exceptionally deep squad that Rob Pelinka built. This saved them from having to deal many players to the Dallas Mavericks in order to acquire Kyrie Irving. D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Austin Reaves—all significant free agents—have all re-signed on fair deals.

They now have wing depth with Taurean Prince. Guard depth with the addition of Gabe Vincent, and a big defensive center on the bench with Jaxson Hayes. As a defensive point guard, they selected Jalen Hood-Schifino in the draft, and their squad has become very strong. Even though they have good depth, LeBron James and Anthony Davis need to remain fit for them to perform well.
