Thankfully, Bronny is doing better now and is stable. He is no longer in the intensive care unit since Tuesday. The James family has asked for some private time during this tough period. Fans are curious about how this happened to a young 18-year-old athlete. Doctor Brian Sutterer, a specialist in sports injuries, shared an explanation about Bronny’s situation in his recent YouTube video.

“He [Bronny] was practicing, so presumably, there was some type of exertional component or something that happened around his athletics,” Sutterer said.

Dr. Sutterer explained that a cardiac arrest is not the same as a heart attack.

“A heart attack implies there has been some blockage in the vessel supplying blood to the heart. Cardiac arrest is more of a generic term, implying that something happened to cause the heart to stop beating. When the heart stops beating, you’re essentially dead,” he added.

Dr. Brian Sutterer told people what to do first if someone has a cardiac arrest: they should use CPR to help the blood flow by pressing on the chest repeatedly. He also said that doctors might have to use a defibrillator or give a shock to the heart to restart it during a cardiac arrest.

Dr. Sutterer believes that the medical team at USC would have had a device called an AED or defibrillator ready to help Bronny James when he had a cardiac arrest. They would have used it to try to restart his heart before taking him to the hospital. The specific information about what happened at USC after Bronny’s cardiac arrest has not been shared yet.

Bronny James is in stable condition

LeBron James and his family want some time alone after what happened to Bronny James. The only details known to the public are from the family’s side. As of now, the latest update is that Bronny is stable.

“Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU (intensive care). We ask for respect and privacy for the James family, and we will update the media when there is more information. LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes,” James family spokesperson said.

Bronny James’ younger brother Bryce shared a photo of himself with him on his Instagram story, using a heart emoji to express his love and support during Bronny’s recovery.
