LeBron James is considered the most prominent figure in today’s National Basketball Association (NBA) as he has been the league’s top player for the past 20 years. Although there have been other great players during this time, LeBron’s remarkable achievements have earned him a place in the discussion of the greatest of all time (GOAT).
Numerous NBA players hold LeBron James in high regard and consider him to be the top player in the sport. However, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander does not share this sentiment, as he disclosed in an episode of the show Pass The Rock.

“His game, I never really liked his game. To me, when I was younger, he was just super athletic, I wasn’t that. He was 6’8 and super strong, and I wasn’t that either. So I never like, related… Just kill you with skill. It is fun beating Bron,” Gilgeous-Alexander said.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s statement is quite audacious, but it does have a logical explanation. LeBron James is an exceptional player who dominates every aspect of the game due to his physical attributes that are unmatched. For many young basketball players striving to achieve success in the NBA, it can be challenging to identify with someone like LeBron James, who seems like a god-like figure.
However, it is somewhat unfair to suggest that LeBron James has not worked hard to refine his skills. In fact, he has continually evolved his game throughout his NBA career. Moreover, his passing abilities are often overlooked, and he is undoubtedly one of the best passers in NBA history. Shai’s comment does not indicate any lack of respect for LeBron, though.
Gilgeous-Alexander vs King James
During his conversation, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander mentioned that defeating LeBron James can be an enjoyable experience. However, he has not had the opportunity to do so very often. Gilgeous-Alexander has faced James nine times, and LeBron’s team has won six of those encounters. In only two of those games has Gilgeous-Alexander scored more than 25 points, so it seems that he has not experienced this feeling of triumph too frequently at this point.
If he can lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a higher finish than the Los Angeles Lakers this season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander may end up hindering LeBron James. The Lakers are currently one game behind the Thunder, and the two squads will compete in a significant match on the upcoming Saturday. Even though it is doubtful that LeBron James will participate in the game, Gilgeous-Alexander will strive to guide his team to a critical triumph against the Lakers, led by the King.
