She shared that when the pandemic struck, she made the conscious decision to prioritize spending time with her children and creating a close-knit environment. The Currys opted for a private and secluded lifestyle as the world around them came to a halt. Prior to March 2020, their lives were characterized by intense media scrutiny. However, the pandemic presented them with a valuable opportunity to reflect on their priorities and work on personal growth.
During the pandemic, having both parents present at home was a tremendous blessing for Curry’s children, Riley, Ryan, and Canon, as they thrived in this environment. Curry disclosed that her daughters, in particular, have developed a strong affinity for the arts. Her 7-year-old daughter, Ryan, has recently taken a liking to playing the ukulele, showcasing her growing interest in music.
However, Ayesha openly shared her regret concerning the upbringing of their eldest daughter, Riley.
Their children, especially Riley, experienced a significant amount of media scrutiny during their upbringing. Riley Curry gained attention when she attended Game 4 of the playoffs between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings. As her father emerged victorious and tied the series, Riley shared a heartwarming moment with him, engaging in a cute handshake. However, this incident attracted excessive media attention towards Riley, a situation that Ayesha now regrets exposing her children to.
“When the social media thing started, nobody knew what that was going to become. If we had known back in the day just how chaotic it would make life, I don’t think we would’ve done it,” she said.
“But we were just genuinely living our lives back then. And we thought, ‘This is our kid. We’re bringing our kid along,’” she added.
However, it appears that the couple has acknowledged their past mistakes and adopted a more informed approach. They have made a conscious effort to shield their children from social media and prevent them from having access to phones, thus safeguarding them from any negative information about their parents. While Ayesha understands that this protective bubble may not last indefinitely, she is determined to prioritize her children’s safety and ensure they remain sheltered from excessive media attention.
