NBA Trade News: Insider Reveals Philadelphia 76ers’ Demand for James Harden Trade Deal

James Harden wishes to leave the Philadelphia 76ers and join another NBA team for the upcoming 2023-24 season. This is significant news during the offseason, and it appears like the Sixers want specific things in exchange for letting him go.

According to PhillyVoice, executives from other teams think that the Philadelphia 76ers’ position on trading James Harden is not fair or sensible.

“They view their path to a Harden trade to accomplish one of two things — they want to get back a package that allows them to stay in the same tier of contention, sources say, or to make a trade that returns enough assets back to flip for another high-level player,” the report said.

“While there has been a lot of speculation that the Sixers could try to spin a Harden trade into a multi-team deal to chase a star, there does seem to be some pushback on the idea that they could execute that style of asset-flipping trade simultaneously with a Harden deal. The Sixers would prefer to be able to make or keep the team as competitive as possible as soon as possible, but they believe that requires getting an All-Star-level return for Harden in the event that they trade him,” the report added.

James Harden only wants to play for the LA Clippers. He doesn’t have a good relationship with the head of the Sixers, Daryl Morey. The trade deal might take a long time, and it will be interesting to see which team he joins before the new season starts.

Harden wants to play with Russell Westbrook

James Harden and Russell Westbrook played together on the Oklahoma City Thunder and then on the Houston Rockets. Now, James Harden wants to play with Russell Westbrook again on the LA Clippers.

“For what it’s worth, I’ve been told that James Harden’s desire to be traded to the Clippers was made even stronger once they officially re-signed Russell Westbrook. The two are still very close, and Harden wants to play with Russ again,” Clippers beat writer Joey Linn said.

It’s difficult to predict how the reunion will play out if James Harden joins the Clippers. Both guards play in different ways, and while they previously had a terrific connection, the Clippers may find it difficult because they also have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the squad.
