Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has a lot of knowledge about being a great NBA big man. During his 20-year career, few players have had as much success as Kareem. Only Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell were other big players who attained comparable success.
Victor Wembnayama has the potential to change things in the NBA, but he hasn’t proven himself yet. As Victor is about to make his NBA debut, Abdul-Jabbar gave him some personal advice.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar sends a message to Victor Wembnayama

“Just be patient. Pick up what he can pick up as he goes along. He’s not gonna get all at once, but he’s got a lot of potential. We’ll see what happens.” Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said to ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth.
Kareem was a star right away. In his first season, he scored a lot of points, averaging 28.8 per game. He became one of the best players ever when he retired. People thought Wembnayama would be just as good, but his first game in the Summer League showed that he still needs time to get better.
The most important thing for Victor to do now is to keep playing his own style of basketball and let his team help him in improving.
Wembnayama might have a slow start
Victor’s game will get better in the future, but it’s clear that it will take time and the results may not happen right away. During his first game in the Summer League, Victor admitted that he didn’t know what he was doing on the court.
“Honestly, I didn’t really know what I was doing on the court tonight but I’m trying to learn for the next games. The important thing is to be ready for the season,” he said.
Victor must ignore what others say and concentrate on improving as a player. Things may become challenging for him if he continues to struggle throughout the season. It will be critical for him to remain calm.
