“They’re Just Nuts” – Charles Barkley Sends a Warning To Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, and Other Top Draft Picks

The 2023 NBA Draft had many great talents. Some of them, such as Victor Wembanyama, Brandon Miller, and Scoot Henderson, have the potential to become extremely well-known and successful in the future.

However, it’s difficult to prove their quality until they play in the NBA. In the past, many young players who were expected to do well ended up not performing as expected at the highest level. Charles Barkley has shared his thoughts on this.

Charles Barkley on NBA talents

“Nobody knows how to play in the NBA at 18, 19 years old. They played their whole life on talent. They just played their whole career on talent. You’re not getting probably great coaching in high school. You’re getting good coaching in college, but you’re better than 99 percent of the players,” Barkley said.

“When you get to the NBA, you ain’t better than nobody. You can’t be a great player unless you know how to play. Any kid who thinks he’s gonna come to the NBA right now says, ‘I’m gonna outrun LeBron (James) or Giannis (Antetokounmpo) or Devin Booker or Jimmy Butler or Trae Young.’ They’re like, ‘I’m gonna out-talent those guys.’ They’re just nuts. You gotta learn how to play,” he added.

Playing in the NBA is very different from playing in college or smaller leagues. The best NBA players are on a whole other level. Some new players say they want to dunk on LeBron James, but it’s much harder to do than they think.

Victor Wembanyama has a great attitude

Victor Wembanyama has already shown the ideal attitude that new rookies should have when they start their NBA journey.

“The most important is to not step on the court being too humble. You gotta be humble enough — to be able to respect the game — but if you step on a court too humble and scared, you can’t do anything,” Wembanyama said.

To become an NBA superstar, you must first believe in yourself. These young talents must respect their opponents while also facing challengers. They have no limitations to what they can accomplish. The NBA’s future is really bright.
