In the first match of the IPL 2022, Chennai Super Kings are playing against Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite the presence of Sam Billings in the playing XI, Kolkata Knight Riders have used Sheldon Jackson as their wicketkeeper. And the 35-year-old Jackson went on to show the KKR management how valuable he is.
In an attempt to take on KKR mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy, CSK batter Robin Uthappa looked in good form but was stumped out. Uthappa lost his balance trying to flick the ball on the last ball of Varun Chakravarthy’s seventh over. The ball went down the leg side, and Sheldon Jackson dislodged Uthappa’s bails with lightning-quick effort.
Sheldon Jackson Produces Incredible Stumping
Umesh Yadav got KKR off to a flying start by dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad, last year’s Orange Cap champion, in the first over. The experienced pacer maintained his assault, this time dispatching Devon Conway, who was making his IPL debut.
Since then, Robin Uthappa took charge of the game, smashing a couple of boundaries and sixes to get the reigning champions off to a good start. Sheldon Jackson did a fantastic job behind the stumps to get the better of Uthappa just when it looked like CSK would be able to move on from here.
The incident occurred in the match’s eighth over. Varun Chakaravarthy slipped it down leg for the keeper to finish the rest as Uthappa became unbalanced while attempting to flick. Sheldon Jackson did a fantastic job on the gloves. Jackson made it look really simple.
