Losing Messi is one of the biggest nightmares for anyone related to Fc Barcelona. But it has finally happened and the decision has left everyone stunned. The club has failed to keep their star man and may face the consequences.
The real rebuild of the Catalans will begin now, sooner or later it had to come but no one thought that it would happen this way. Messi leaving has created one more problem in Spain and that is his international teammate Sergio Aguero. According to reports Aguero also wants out of the club. While that’s a story for some other time let’s look at where the little man is heading to.

Both the clubs have unlimited amounts of money and can spend it easily if it wasn’t for FFP. The city has already completed the first signing of their season as they splashed £100 million on the Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish. Making him the costliest English transfer in history.
Harry Kane is another big name that has been linked to the club for quite some time now. If it wasn’t for Daniel Levy playing hardball the England captain would already be a City player. The city was hoping to sign the striker for £100 million but the bid was rejected and a new bid for £160 million was asked by the Spurs chairman.
A lot of controversies have been there regarding this transfer and it has even led to the striker missing his training. Rumors sparked that Kane is finally leaving but as it stands Levy has stopped the move. If the move happens by the end of the window then Manchester City will be an unstoppable force.
Citizens were already a great team last season with leading in all competitions they played in. They won the league and the Carabao Cup. The club also made it to the finals of the champions league and the semifinals of the FA Cup. Ironically they were knocked out by the same team in both the games, Chelsea Fc.
Despite a great season they will be hoping to come back stronger and hope for the champions league title. So let’s look at a possible lineup that Manchester City could build leading up to the start of the season:
Goalkeeper
Ederson- His place is confirmed in the lineup and the club is in his safe hands when he is playing. Being Brazil’s number 1 this season, Ederson will surely start all games.
Defenders
Ruben Dias – PFA Player of the season last time around. What a first season the Portuguese defender had at the club. Winning the league and Carabao Cup and also making it to the champions league finals.
John Stones- The Diaz and Stones partnership lasted a lot longer than expected. City won 21 games when both these defenders started together. The English defender took some time to settle at the club but has now fully made his place in Pep Guardiola’s system.
Kyle Walker- Lauded as the best player for England in the Euros, Walker was the only player that could challenge Mbappe this season. Walker has been brilliant every time he has played for the club and would definitely be a regular starter.
Midfielders
Kevin De Bruyne and IIkay Gundogan – What a great season the German had this season and has been the main man in the midfield. While there is no doubt in Kevin De Bruyne’s talents.
Jack Grealish and Phil Foden- The new boy Jack Grealish will join the young cub Phil Foden in the upfront.
Forwards
Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, and Lionel Messi – Imagine this attack. Sterling on one flank and Leo on the other feeding the target man and the English captain Harry Kane. All those who doubted Raheem Sterling’s capabilities must be silent by now. What a performance he had at the international level this time around. Kane started a bit late but still managed to find the goals. While Messi finally won Copa America. It will indeed be a new journey for him but it would definitely be worth watching.
