The current champions league winners are coming in stronger this season as they have already left overseas for a week-long training camp. In Country Kildare, for their preparation for the coming season. Thomas Tuchel’s honeymoon period lasted longer than anyone expected. Although Roberto Di Matteo has done the same thing before as the current manager.
Coming in mid-season and making your team win the biggest tournament in club football. Not everyone is capable of doing that. Tuchel also led his side to the FA Cup finals but finished second to a brilliant strike from Your Tielemans of Leicester City.
Chelsea players have already played a friendly against Peterborough last Saturday and have been training together. So a lot of difference would not be in the squad that is traveling to Ireland.

Because of these pre-season friendlies a lot of new faces can pop up that are not on the main team right now. Thomas Tuchel can closely see the other talents apart from the Champions League-winning side. After winning the champions league the club’s new goal is to win the premier league.
With Hakim Ziyech, Tammy Abraham and Armando Broja having a great start as they all scored in their first friendly are looking to make a name for themselves this year.
So let’s talk about four players who can impress Thomas Tuchel in the offseason and make a place for themselves in the main team:
Hakim Ziyech
A big name signed from Ajax, the highly talented attacking midfielder failed to break the first team in his debut season. Injuries were there but when he was fit he didn’t make it in the starting lineup. With Kai Havertz and Timo Werner overshadowed the Moroccan winger the previous season.
He will be coming back to make a name for himself in the coming season. Although Ziyech scored a vital goal in a win against Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinals, still a lot more is expected from him. Having already scored in his first club-friendly, the winger looks to have a great season ahead.
Armando Broja
Yet another attacker that can break into the first team. The 19-year-old was loaned out last season to Vitesse where he netted 10 times in 30 appearances. With Chelsea already struggled with striker problems this season Broja can pounce on this opportunity.
Not a lot has been done in the transfer market and their chances of signing Erling Haaland are over. Werner was given a lot of time but has failed to prove his worth. The Albanian international already scored in a friendly against Peterborough this season has also signed a new 5 year deal with the club.
Can he impress Tuchel in the weeks to come?
Ruben Loftus Cheek
A decent midfielder, but his career has been plagued by injuries, and has failed to live up to his potential. Having spent the last season at Fulham on loan, but it was not his best season in particular as the club got relegated.
After facing an Achilles injury in 2019, his career was overturned as he also missed the club’s Europa League final. Since then his spot has been taken in the midfield.
But the Englishman is capable of coming back and fight for his position and friendlies is a great opportunity to do so.
Ross Barkley
If Barkley manages to find the form that he had in Everton, then certainly no one can stop Chelsea from winning the league. Honestly, it’s been three since he was signed by the club for £15 million. He hasn’t had his best time last season with Aston Villa and is now back with the blues.
Now pre-season is a time where he can make a name for himself and impress the gaffer. The club is highly dependent on N’golo Kante and Jorginho and could use some extra hand in the attack.
