One of the all-time best point guards and a player on the first ballot for the Hall of Fame is Russell Westbrook. But it’s fair to say that his time with the Los Angeles Lakers hasn’t exactly been stellar, as the point guard mostly fell short of everyone’s hopes for him when the Lakers made a big trade to acquire him.
Even Russell Westbrook has been mentioned in a few trade rumors for the Los Angeles Lakers this year. The most recent reports were that he might be traded to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for draft picks for Kyrie Irving, but Irving was actually moved to the Dallas Mavericks.
Russell Westbrook’s brother on LeBron James
LeBron James recently voiced disappointment over the Los Angeles Lakers’ failure to sign Kyrie Irving, making it apparent that he desired the trade of Russell Westbrook. Ray Westbrook, the brother of Russell Westbrook, as a result made a sarcastic remark about LeBron James.
Yeah.. I think Westbrook is getting traded lol pic.twitter.com/YlFmfJ33AR

Ray Westbrook’s dissatisfaction with LeBron James’ statement is evident. Though it is clear that some people associated with Westbrook are obviously upset about his words, it is hoped that LeBron James’ recent remarks won’t have any negative effects on any team dynamics.
Lakers are working on a deal involving Westbrook
The Los Angeles Lakers are continually working to improve their current lineup despite their failure to sign Kyrie Irving. According to a recent source, a three-team trade including the sending of Russell Westbrook and the receiving of Tobias Harris and Furkan Korkmaz is in the works.
The Lakers, Sixers, and Pistons are in trade talks.
Pistons receive: Russell Westbrook, picks
Lakers receive: Tobias Harris, Furkan Korkmaz
Sixers receive: Nerlens Noel, Marvin Bagley, Bojan Bogdanović.
LA does not want to trade their 1st round picks.
The success of this transaction between the Lakers, Sixers, and Pistons is yet uncertain. Although three-team transactions are famously challenging to complete, multi-team trades have increased recently as teams have been more inventive in their trade strategies. Hopefully, the Los Angeles Lakers will make a win-now decision to assist LeBron James and Anthony Davis in winning a championship in the upcoming seasons. Because both players continue to perform at a very high level, perhaps the front office will make an all-in move sooner rather than later.
