Watch: Footage shows Anthony Davis did not celebrate LeBron James surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record

LeBron James achieved a historic moment against the Oklahoma City Thunder by becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar‘s record. He was widely celebrated globally for this accomplishment.

This milestone caused former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal to get James to acknowledge that he is now considered the greatest basketball player of all time. Despite numerous well wishes for James’ achievement, there was a surprising individual who did not celebrate.

Surprisingly, it was his teammate Anthony Davis who earned a ring with LeBron James in 2020.

Anthony Davis did not celebrate LeBron James breaking the record

Given that LeBron James and Anthony Davis have always had a tight relationship, it was puzzling that Davis just refused to notice the fadeaway shot that led to James becoming the NBA’s all-time scoring leader.

NBA fans surprised by Davis’ reaction

Anthony Davis has returned to the Los Angeles Lakers’ roster after missing several weeks due to injuries. But that’s no reason for Davis to sit and ignore James’ incredible accomplishment.

LeBron may have picked up on some tension between himself and Davis. On Twitter, a video of LeBron demonstrating his affection for AD went viral.

While there are numerous hypotheses as to why Davis acted the way he did, others of us are simply perplexed. Bill Simmons, a well-known NBA analyst, tweeted a two-word reply to the video.

The Los Angeles Lakers are already dealing with a slew of issues. A squabble between James and Davis may spell the end of the Lakers’ current lineup and the organization’s experiment. After all, the Lakers are now 25-30 after a heartbreaking 130-133 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Anyway, here’s Davis’ full response to James being the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
