“He’s a hater” – LeBron James Once Slammed Charles Barkley for His Disrespectful Comments
During the 2016-17 NBA season, LeBron James received a lot of criticism from the media, particularly Charles Barkley. Barkley didn’t like LeBron’s need for better teammates in order to win another championship. He also accused LeBron of lacking competitive spirit and called him weak.
James didn’t like what Barkley said, so he responded to him. LeBron called Barkley a hater and pointed out his own flaws. He also said he was tired of being polite and hiding his feelings from all the people who criticize him.

“He’s a hater. What makes what he [Charles Barkley] says credible? Because he’s on TV? I’m not going to let him disrespect my legacy like that. I’m not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spat on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, ‘I’m not a role model.’ … I’m tired of biting my tongue. There’s a new sheriff in town,” James said.
Shaquille O’Neal defended King James
In the 2016-17 NBA season, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers were the champions, as LeBron had promised to bring a title to his hometown in 2016. Because of this, people thought they would compete for another championship in the next season. But, during the 2017-18 season, they faced many challenges and difficulties.
As a result, the media paid a lot of attention to James. Charles Barkley and others criticized him for asking for too much support to win. Barkley questioned LeBron’s competitiveness and mentioned the talented players on his team. This started a big argument between Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq disagreed with Barkley and supported LeBron, saying it’s okay to want more help to succeed.
Shaq criticized Barkley for not understanding what it was like to be successful because he had never won a championship. Shaq also stated that teams require all the help they can get in order to win a championship.
