Backstage Reports on Randy Orton Returning to RKO Top Superstar Tonight at WWE Payback 2023

WWE Payback 2023 may include a major surprise for fans in the form of Randy Orton.

Orton hasn’t been wrestling since May 2022 because he hurt his back badly. But fans have been talking about him coming back to WWE for a long time now. Even though nothing is sure yet, the creative team might be waiting for a big event like Payback to bring him back.

Earlier reports said that WWE wants the former Tag Team Champion to come back as a heel. If that happens, The Viper might return and attack Seth Rollins.

Rollins is supposed to defend his World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Payback 2023. Tonight, the creative team might have Orton come back and give Rollins a really strong RKO to hurt him.

If this happens, it would not only make Orton a heel but also start the storyline for a big fight with The Visionary.

Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura at WWE Payback

Seth Rollins is going to defend his championship against Shinsuke Nakamura at Payback 2023. Fans can look forward to this match being really exciting.

Nakamura is going to be a strong challenger for The Architect. The King of Strong Style will try to aim for Rollins’ hurt back. The current World Heavyweight Champion has been having a problem with his lower back for a while.

“Yeah, I mean, he’s not wrong, you know, my back sucks. I’ve had these injuries for four or five years now. It’s, I’ve two stress fractures in like the lowest vertebrae you can possibly have in my lower back. And occasionally, they flare up. And if they accrue too much damage, it can become extremely painful. And it can be very difficult for me to get through matches. And it can be very difficult for me to get up for, you know, the morning activities for days sometimes,” Rollins said on After The Bell podcast.

Rollins’ injury could be crucial in his fight with Nakamura.
