Backstage Reports on WWE’s WrestleMania 40 Plans For Roman Reigns After Losing to The Usos
WWE has plans for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. They want him to face Cody Rhodes in a one-on-one match.
Last night in London, the Tribal Chief experienced one of the worst defeats in his career. After a long time of 1294 days, Roman Reigns was finally pinned in the center of the wrestling ring. Jey Uso did something unexpected and ended the remarkable winning streak at Money In The Bank 2023.
WWE’s plans for Roman Reigns
After the Money In The Bank event, Cody Rhodes said winning the World Heavyweight title won’t be the end for him. Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio later mentioned that WWE has a plan for Cody Rhodes to be in the main event of WrestleMania 40.
“His storyline is that the belt that his father didn’t win – which is apparently Roman’s belt – that’s the one that’s the story. So basically, he almost has said it’s next year’s WrestleMania, which is the plan right now,” he said.
Reigns has a major won against Cody Rhodes
At WrestleMania 39, Reigns and Rhodes had a an epic match in the main event. Rhodes tried his best to defeat The Tribal Chief, but in the end, the interference from The Usos and Solo Sikoa worked against him. The Tribal Chief won the match and kept his Undisputed WWE Universal title. Many fans were disappointed with the way the match ended.
“No. Winning the World Heavyweight Championship would be outstanding. It would be amazing. It is the title on the flagship show, Monday Night RAW. It absolutely matters and is important and what Seth is doing with it is a special thing and you’re going to see that the title will be far more in five minutes and then ten minutes. It gains equity every second. But finishing the story has always been about winning the title my dad didn’t get,” Rhodes said about finishing his story.
If everything stays the same, fans may look forward to a spectacular rematch at WrestleMania next year. People worry if Rhodes will be able to win if he is given another chance to meet Roman Reigns in the main event.
