Former WWE Star May Return to RAW After Over a Decade to Destroy Champion’s Celebration

This week’s RAW episode will be all about Gunther celebrating his longest reign as Intercontinental Champion in WWE history.

This week, Gunther made a new record by being the Intercontinental Champion for longer than The Honky Tonk Man, who held the title for 35 years. So, WWE might have some special things in store for Gunther on RAW this week.

Honky Tonk Man to appear in WWE?

Even though people were talking about it, The Honky Tonk Man wasn’t actually supposed to show up on the red show a few weeks ago. However, there might now be a plan for the 70-year-old Hall of Famer to appear on RAW for the first time since March 2013, possibly to surprise Gunther during his celebration.

It might be a big surprise if Honky Tonk Man comes out and shakes hands with Gunther, even though he might have had different thoughts about him breaking his record. The Hall of Famer can’t really wrestle Gunther, so a simple handshake could be a way to show that he respects what Gunther has achieved with the championship he made famous.

WWE fans have been wanting Honky Tonk Man to show up ever since Gunther started breaking his record a few months ago. This week, the veteran might finally make an appearance to support the IC Champion.

WWE’s plans for Gunther

It’s uncertain what the plans are for Gunther on RAW, but any fan can recognize that these celebrations rarely go smoothly in WWE. Currently, Chad Gable and Sheamus have some feud with Gunther, and both men might decide to make appearances on this week’s RAW.

Gunther has a Fastlane match coming up in a few weeks, but he hasn’t yet been assigned an opponent. Tomorrow night on RAW would be an excellent time for the next challenger to appear and build up an epic championship match.
