“I Was So Disgusted” – Brock Lesnar Once Revealed He Was Very Disappointed After Losing to a Wrestler Who Looked Like a Marshmallow
Brock Lesnar became great at amateur wrestling before entering the professional ranks in 2000. Despite being extremely powerful and talented, he did not always win at the start of his wrestling career.
In 2001, Lesnar did an interview with Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Live, which was a special occasion. During that time, he was considered one of the most promising talents in WWE’s Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) training program.
Brock Lesnar was disgusted after a loss

When thinking about a wrestling match he had in junior college, Lesnar talked about feeling “disgusted” after a very memorable defeat.
“I had got beaten by this kid in the semi-finals who couldn’t hardly chew gum and tie his shoes at the same time. I was so disgusted with myself that I had just gotten beat by this guy that looks like a marshmallow. Here I am, spent so many hours in the gym, so many hours running, and this guy catches me and beats me out of a fluke,” Lesnar said.
After that difficult time, things started to improve for Lesnar. The famous UFC fighter finished college with a total of 106 wins and only five losses over four years. He even became the champion in heavyweight wrestling for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I in 2000.
Lesnar’s reaction to defeat
The day after losing in amateur wrestling, Brock Lesnar began to focus more on his training.
Even though it was difficult for him to accept defeat, he believes that losing to someone who was not as good as him made him realize that he needed to improve.
“I woke up the next day and I was like, you know what, it’s time for me to get serious. It’s time for things to change. That was probably my turning point right there,” he said.
