Any wrestler will get shivers just hearing the name Brock Lesnar. The “Beast Incarnate” has demonstrated his strength and talent in the UFC Octagon as well as in the WWE ring. He is renowned for destroying opponents with punches, knee strikes, and the devastating Kimura Hold.
While the majority of his admirers likely already have an idea of his stubbornness, they are unaware of how stubborn he truly is. A former WWE performer disclosed some backstage rumors regarding the moment Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle squared off at Wrestlemania in an interview with Sean Oliver.
What happened in WWE Wrestlemania 19?
Ivory, a former WWE diva, divulged insider information regarding the incident during a Kayfabe Commentaries episode. With two well-known wrestlers facing off on Wrestlemania, including Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, the matchup was a major event at the time. There is no way it could be more hyped than that!
According to Ivory, Kurt Angle was supposed to call the match, but Brock Lesnar paid no attention to him at whatsoever. Angle tried repeatedly to explain things to Lesnar, but he was only successful in getting him to repeat, “No, no, no.”
Real fight or fake fight?
Even Angle had once expressed a similar opinion.
“We had the showdown. It was close. It really was. He had 90 pounds on me, but I probably took him down into the ropes a good 7-8 times. He used the ropes to say we’re out of bounds. That’s OK. I did take him down once. He didn’t take me down at all,” Angle said.
The confrontation developed into a “true brawl” and a genuine contest. Both stars still regret the mistakes made throughout the performance.
“The whole reason why I helped Brock up and tried to assist him to win the match is that my neck was broken and I couldn’t carry the title any longer,” he added.
Due to the injuries, Angle took significant time off following the contest, and Lesnar continued to defend his championship. Although it may have been an unpleasant experience, the two performers’ expertise assured that it did not go worse.
