”I Was In The Airport” – Seth Rollins Reveals His and Becky Lynch’s Reaction to Vince McMahon’s Retirement
Seth Rollins, a former Universal Champion, recently discussed his and his wife Becky Lynch‘s reactions to Vince McMahon’s retirement from the WWE.
The former Chairman and CEO of the business stunned the whole wrestling industry by announcing his resignation on Twitter a few months ago. After claims of paying former female employees “hush money,” McMahon announced his retirement.

Seth Rollins revealed to BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani that he and Becky Lynch were shocked and were unable to comprehend the news when they first learned of it.
“I couldn’t believe it. It’s one of those things where you’ll never forget. I was in the airport, we [Becky Lynch and I] were heading out to a live event, we were flying out on a Friday… and so I got the text ‘Check your app from a note from the chairman’ and I click it… I was like [surprised face]. She just saw my face from a distance, she’s like ‘What’s wrong?’ I’m like ‘Did you get the text?’ She’s like ‘No, what?’ And I had her look at it and she was like ‘Oh my God, what? That’s it?’ And I think both of us were just like ‘What?!'” – Rollins said.
Rollins opens up about his relationship with Vince McMahon
Unquestionably, The Visionary is one of the top stars in the entire business right now. At WrestleMania 31 while Vince McMahon was in charge, he won his first WWE Title.
Seth Rollins stated in the interview that he always expected his old boss to leave, but he had no idea it would happen so quickly. McMahon, he said, had a fatherly influence on him.
“I always thought Vince [McMahon] is older, at some point in my tenure with WWE, I intend to be here for a quite long time, he would retire, be forced out, die on the job, who knows? But when it happened, it was so abrupt, I was not prepared and it got me emotional. I mean, I love Vince. He’s been like a father figure to me over the past 10 years,” Rollins added.
