”It was so bad” – Nikki Bella reveals she had real-life conflict with released WWE Superstar

Recently, Nikki Bella recalled how she and Eva Marie had real arguments while shooting sequences for their TV show, Total Divas.

The reality series on E! debuted its first season in 2013. Among the original cast members were Brie Bella, Cameron, Eva Marie, JoJo Offerman, Naomi, Natalya, and Nikki Bella.

Nikki discussed a real-life dispute she once had with Marie on The Bellas Podcast.

“I had like a Queen Elizabeth [hairstyle] from like late 1800s bun on my head, which looked so bad with my highlights, and then I confronted Eva. And I’m in workout clothes with that bun on my head. I’m like, I don’t know what I should cry more about: the argument or that bun! It was so bad. I can’t even believe she could keep a straight face arguing with me,” she said.

The WWE Hall of Famer spoke to the reality of the hostility. Additionally, she brought up another dispute Marie had with Paige and her sister Brie Bella.

“We hit heads big time legitimately. Actually, nothing like what happened at the Staples Arena [between Brie, Eva, and Paige],” she added.

Then, Marie received harsh criticism from Brie for not treating the wrestling profession seriously. After the former Total Diva started her wrestling training in Los Angeles rather than at the Performance Center in Florida, Paige also called her “lazy.” In May 2021, Marie rejoined the WWE after a nearly four-year sabbatical. But due to financial cuts, she was let out of her contract in November 2021.

How the Total Divas fights started

In WWE, there was a lot of backstage turmoil. JoJo Offerman was not invited to Eva Marie’s wedding, and Cameron and Naomi got into a nasty argument in the first season.

Brie Bella said that producers would frequently start arguments amongst cast members in order to stir up conflict.

“I’m not gonna say this producer’s name – I’d like to – was like, ‘Oh, she said this and did this and that.’ I just remember all that. They loved it, so your fight always stemmed from the grapevine of people saying stuff. I look back at that and I should have known,” she added.
