It appears that Roman Reigns will not begin his WrestleMania journey at the Royal Rumble. He has held the WWE Universal Championship for a long time and does not wrestle as much. This makes every time he defends his title that much more memorable and entertaining to watch.
The last time Reigns defended his championship was at SummerSlam when he beat Jey Uso, and he was on SmackDown the next Friday. Since there are no planned title matches coming up, the Royal Rumble could have been a big event where he might defend his title.
But the advertisements for the event don’t guarantee that Reigns will actually be there.
Roman Reigns could miss Royal Rumble

The poster for the 2024 Royal Rumble has many famous wrestlers, but Roman Reigns is not shown on it.

Both IYO SKY and Eli Drake are shown prominently on the poster, which is the first time they’ve been given such an important spot for a big event. This might suggest that the company has special plans for them, along with the other stars on the poster.
Roman Reigns successfully defended his WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens at last year’s Royal Rumble. This happened when Sami Zayn was a member of The Bloodline group, but he backstabbed after the match to support Owens. Later, at WrestleMania, Sami and Owens defeated The Usos to win the Tag Team Championships.
