When Roman Reigns Revealed How Brock Lesnar Didn’t Co-Operate With Him And Declined The Offer

For a long time, Roman Reigns has had many major fights with different WWE wrestlers. Brock Lesnar, who some consider to be his main rival, was one of his most crucial TV opponents.

They first fought each other in the main event of WrestleMania 31, and Seth Rollins won by using his Money in the Bank contract. They also had important matches at the end of WrestleMania 34 and WrestleMania 38.

In 2017, Roman Reigns talked on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast about how Brock Lesnar didn’t seem willing to work together backstage. He also mentioned that his friend Paul Heyman was taking care of Brock Lesnar during that time.

“I’m never scared. But it was just weird. It really was. It was last minute. It was one of those deals where it wasn’t a lot of talking, [Lesnar and Heyman] didn’t seem open to ideas because, essentially, in their minds, and when I say ‘their minds’ I say Brock and Paul, which, that is a powerful pairing right there,” Reigns said.

At that time, Paul Heyman was representing Lesnar. Heyman also had a say in deciding what matches and parts of the show Lesnar would be involved in.

Roman Reigns said that Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar wanted him to be badly hurt during their match at WrestleMania 31.

“Those two, they’re something else. They wanted to kill me. They were convinced however many people were there, eighty [thousand], whatever, they wanted to see me get crushed. They were there and they just want to see Roman get his a** beat. And I can’t disagree with them, but brother [has] got to fight. Hey, you can kick my a** all you want, but I’m going to fight,” he said.

Paul Heyman began appearing on WWE TV as Roman Reigns’ counsel in 2020. They’ve grown into a very strong partnership since then, and Heyman’s character has even sided with The Tribal Chief rather than Lesnar.
