”Worst One-Sided Beatings” – Dana White Once Explained The Reason Why He Banned Ronda Rousey And Other Women From Fighting in UFC
The UFC today has many highly elite female fighters. But there was a time when the boss, Dana White, refused to allow women to fight in the UFC. But everything changed thanks to Ronda Rousey, who was incredible. She won an Olympic medal in Judo and was instrumental in allowing other female athletes to join the UFC.
Rousey wrote a book called ‘My Fight/Your Fight.’ In the book, she talked about all the good and bad things that happened in her life.
Dana White wrote the beginning part of the book. In the foreword, he talked about why he strongly believed that there shouldn’t be women fighters in the UFC.
Reason why Dana White didn’t want female fighters in the UFC

In the beginning part of the book, White remembered a time when he was interviewed by ‘TMZ’ in Las Vegas back in 2011. They asked him when women would fight in the UFC, and he replied, “Never.”
White talked about why he didn’t let women fight in the UFC for a while. He said that he didn’t mind women participating in combat sports. But he was unsure about allowing it in the UFC because of something he personally saw happen in Northern California.
“There was this woman who fought just like a guy, and she was in the ring with someone who looked like she took five Tae Bo classes,” he wrote.
“It was one of the worst one-sided beatings I had ever seen, and I just didn’t want to see that in the UFC,” he said about the fight.
But everything changed when Ronda Rousey started fighting in the UFC in 2013. She became the first female champion by winning the bantamweight title. Even though she later retired after losing two title fights in a row, she still has a good record in MMA. She set the stage for other women to compete in the UFC. Even now, Rousey and White have a good relationship, and the boss of the UFC recently talked about it.
White on his relationship with Ronda Rousey

Dana White, while being a guest on Paddy Pimblett’s podcast, talked more about his friendship with Ronda Rousey. The 53-year-old said that Rousey was one of the fighters he had a really good friendship with.
The big boss of the UFC told Paddy Pimblett that Ronda Rousey still keeps in contact with him through text messages. White also mentioned that she still feels thankful to him for all the money and success she gained from her career in the UFC.

“She still, to this day, sends me texts. Like her home she has in Hawaii, you know, she got a home in Southern California. She built some crazy… zombie apocalypse ranch in Oregon or something like that. She got all these different places and she will still send me texts and say that ‘It’s all because of you and thank you so much for believing in me and giving me the platform to change my life,’” he said.
In addition, White stated that Ronda Rousey was one of the best athletes he had ever worked with in his career.
