WWE Veteran Believes Dominik Mysterio Should Have Had a Romantic Storyline with 32-Year-Old Superstar Instead of Rhea Ripley

Vince Russo stated that Dominik Mysterio should have been paired with Zelina Vega rather than Rhea Ripley.

Dominik and Ripley have been a fun team to watch on TV. They, along with their friends Finn Balor and Damian Priest from the Judgment Day group, have been really powerful and successful on Monday Night RAW lately.

Ripley even supported Dominik Mysterio in winning his first individual championship in WWE. She helped him become the NXT North American Champion by helping him against Wes Lee. However, Vince Russo is not sure about their partnership. He talked about his doubts on the newest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Writing with Russo.

According to him, Vince Russo thinks that it would have been better if Ripley was paired with Damian Priest, and Dominik was paired with Zelina Vega. He said that Vega would have been a great fit as Dominik’s girlfriend, who could have influenced him to go against his own father, Rey Mysterio.

“They should have Priest with Rhea Ripley, and they should have put Dominik with Zelina Vega. That’s what they should have done. She should have been the girlfriend who was in his ear, turning him against his dad. That’s the perfect couple right there. And Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, I buy those two together. But the Finn and Dominik aspect; doesn’t fit,” Vince Russo said.

Additionally, Vince Russo said that WWE had never explored the storyline of a jealous girlfriend influencing her boyfriend to go against his father. He explained that Zelina Vega could have gradually caused conflicts between the father and son in the story.

“Bro, how many times do you have a jealous girlfriend because the son idolizes and dad and is always looking up to his dad, and you got the girlfriend saying, ‘Hey, look at me over here.’ She (Zelina Vega) would have been the perfect one, bro. Stirring and stirring and stirring it and you would have a great couple there,” he added.

Previously, as a member of LWO, Zelina Vega had a feud with the Judgement Day. She also competed for the SmackDown Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley at Backlash 2023.
