After defeating Finn Balor at SummerSlam 2023, Seth Rollins seems ready to face Cody Rhodes once more. However, it appears that Shinsuke Nakamura will be his next opponent. Disco Inferno, a former WCW wrestler, believes this sudden twist in the tale is logical given Nakamura’s recent on-screen unhappiness.
On August 7, in RAW, Nakamura teamed up with Rhodes and Rollins to beat Balor, Damian Priest, and Dominik Mysterio. Rhodes and Rollins had trouble cooperating earlier, but they shook hands after the match. Then, Nakamura surprised everyone by hitting Rollins with a move and left the ring.
Next opponent of Seth Rollins

On K100, Disco Inferno talked about why Nakamura has good reasons to go after Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship.
“I’d like to hear his explanation when they interview Nakamura why he did this, and I think it might somehow be, ‘I’m getting sidetracked with all these other bums. I should be fighting for the championship,’ would be my [guess] because he keeps saying that, ‘I’m tired of people getting in my way. I’m getting sick and tired of all this other stuff,’ which is not that bad,” he said.
Before that, Nakamura won against Bronson Reed by using two Kinshasa moves. As Disco Inferno mentioned, Nakamura has been upset in interviews recently because other wrestlers have been getting involved in his matches.
Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura’s past
These two stars fought each other on TV four times. Seth Rollins won three of those matches, and one ended without a winner. The most important match between them was at Survivor Series 2018. Rollins, who was the Intercontinental Champion, beat Nakamura, who was the United States Champion at that time, but the match wasn’t for a title.
Rollins defeated Nakamura at Fastlane 2021 and on SmackDown on March 26, 2021. They had another fight on SmackDown on October 4, 2019, but it only lasted two minutes because The Fiend intervened.
