WWE Wrestler Claims Rey Mysterio Had Minor Concussion on Smackdown

On July 28th, on Friday Night SmackDown, Rey Mysterio teamed up with his friend Santos Escobar, who is also a member of LWO, to compete in a match.

The final match of the United States Championship Invitational was held to choose who would fight against Austin Theory for the title. But sadly, Rey Mysterio got hurt during his match with Escobar. Because of this, Escobar won the match because the referee stopped it.

At first, people thought that the 48-year-old’s injury might have been planned as a storyline to make Santos Escobar more important in the matches. But, Mysterio came back on the 11th of August on the TV show and took the place of his friend. He beat Theory and became the new champion of the United States.

In an interview with Steve Fall on Ten Count, Santos Escobar, who is part of LWO, was asked if WWE’s creative team made last-minute changes because of the injury. Escobar said that the show continued just like they had planned. But, Rey Mysterio really got hurt and had a small problem with his concussion. It was a real injury, not something they planned for the story.

“That’s what happens when you go hard. I’m just glad that he had a small, mild concussion, but he came back hard, and then you know what happened a couple weeks after the fact,” he said.

Angel Garza wants to join LWO

A wrestler from NXT named Angel Garza said he wants to be in the Latino World Order with the famous WWE Hall of Famer, Rey Mysterio. With Rey Mysterio’s help, the group won championships against Theory. They also said that the United States Championship belongs to all the members of LWO.

On Twitter, a fan asked a question to Garza. They wanted to know if the wrestler would join Mysterio’s group.

“That’s not on me, they have their plan,” Garza replied.

It’s not known if WWE is considering making Santos Escobar a heel in order for him to reclaim the US title from his hero.
